How to Prepare?
- Bring a laptop with Avizo 2024.1 installed.
- To use Avizo's AI segmentation tools, install a Deep Learning Environment.
- Bring a mouse with a middle mouse wheel button for easier segmentation.
Overview
This workshop will give participants an introduction and hands-on experience with visualization, image segmentation and 3D analysis using Avizo. Avizo is a commercial software for general-purpose scientific data visualization and analysis. In this workshop, the instructor will demonstrate how to perform the whole image segmentation and 3D analysis pipeline using Avizo. This will include pre-processing/filtering of the input image stack, segmentation using a wide range of tools (including AI assisted tools), and finally 3D analysis.
Participants will be introduced to the basics of using Avizo, which will be needed for the hands-on segmentation and analysis workflows. A more comprehensive workshop on Avizo will be provided in Spring 2025.
Who Should Attend?
The target audience for this workshop are users who work with image data, e.g., CT or microscopy images, and need to apply visualization, segmentation, and analysis for their research.
